Jonathan Wilson with Furhtur

Furthur/RatDog keyboardist Jeff Chimenti sat in with Jonathan Wilson and his band last night. Chimenti joined Wilson for his entire set at Bob Weir’s TRI Studios. The performance was webcast and featured a cover of the Grateful Dead’s “Bertha.” During an interview between songs, Wilson also mentioned that he hoped to use the webcast as a chance to “grow” some songs live and jammed “Natural Rhapsody” out for 10 minutes.

Wilson recorded an unreleased album with Phil Lesh and Chris Robinson a few years ago but truly entered the Grateful Dead fold this August when he appeared at Weir’s Move Me Brightly event at TRI. Since then the guitarist/producer has performed with Phil Lesh at Terrapin Crossroads, joined Furthur at two LA-area shows and performed with Weir at Sweetwater.
