Singer Cory Chisel sat in with roots group Alberta Cross at New York’s Slipper Room last night. Chisel emerged partway through Alberta Cross’ set to sing and play tambourine on “Magnolia,” a song from the band’s latest album Songs of Patience. Both Chisel and the members of Alberta Cross participated in Petty Fest, a Tom Petty tribute, at New York’s Webster Hall on Wednesday night.

Alberta Cross played acoustic throughout last night’s show. Keyboardist Alec Higgins performed on the burlesque club’s upright piano, which is located to the right of the stage on the seating level, for much of the show. The group will perform at the recently reopened club a second time on Thursday.
