Pete Townshend walked offstage during the encore for The Who’s show at the BB&T Center in Sunrise, FL on November 1. Townshend left the stage in the middle of “You Better You Bet,” and did not return for the remainder of the show, which ended with “Baba O’Reily.” The guitarist was reportedly angry with the high volume on stage, with Townshend’s brother Simon tweeting “Pete walked off the tonight because it was too loud. Was a good show but had technical problems.” Townshend has been dealing with hearing loss issues for the past few years.

The Sunrise, FL show was the first of The Who’s 36-stop Quadrophenia tour. The band played the seminal album in its entirety before encoring with a string of five classics. You can watch a video of The Who playing “5:15” from Quadrophenia above. In an interesting twist, the band worked the late John Entwistle’s solo into the song, complete with video footage of the legendary bassist rocking out. The Who will be playing the Amway Center in Orlando, FL tonight.
