HeadCount’s Participation Tour kicked off at Baltimore, MD’s SoundStage on Friday night. From there, the tour moved north to Philadelphia’s Blockley on Saturday and then, the run swung south to Washington, DC’s Howard Theater. As previously reported, Anders Osborne and Ivan Neville’s Dumpstaphunk co-headlined the multi-city run, which has been re-branded as a benefit for the victims of Hurricane Sandy in the wake of the storm.

As expected, each show featured a number of unique sit ins. On Friday, Furthur guitarist John Kadlecik sat in with Osborne for a stretch of songs, including a set-closing take on “Franklin’s Tower.” Bonerama—who were a last minute lineup addition—also sat in with Osborne while The Bridge guitarist Cris Jacob joined Dumpstaphunk at the end of the night. On Saturday night in Philadelphia, Osborne joined Dumpstaphunk for a take on The Rolling Stones’ “Miss You.” Last night, Kadlecik emerged during Osborne’s set for “Jealous Love” and remained onstage as Keller Williams joined Osborne for “Sugaree.” Williams also sat in with Dumpstaphunk for “Bitch” and “Just a Little More.”

HeadCount’s Participation Tour will conclude with a pre-election party at New York’s Highline Ballroom tonight. In addition to Dumpstaphunk, the evening will feature North Mississippi Allstars, Bela Fleck, Questlove, Amy Helm and Scott Metzger, among other special guests.
