Dark Star Orchestra have released a soundboard recording of the first set of their October 13, 2012 performance at The Fillmore in San Francisco. The night was a special one as Grateful Dead founding bassist Phil Lesh joined the band for the entire set performing everything from “Jack Straw” to “Feel Like A Stranger” with a highlight of the ‘musical sandwich’ of “Dark Star > Playin’ In the Band > The Stranger > Eyes of the World > Morning Dew > Playin’ Reprise.” This was the first time Lesh joined DSO on stage, joining five other Dead alumni who’ve sat in with the band: Bob Weir, Donna Jean Godchaux, Bill Kreutzmann, Vince Welnick and Tom Constanten. The download of the show is now available here.

Dark Star Orchestra will perform at Toronto, ON’s The Danforth Music Hall Theatre on November 15. As previously reported, Furthur keyboardist Jeff Chimenti will sub for Rob Barraco for a stretch of shows in December.
