The Rebirth Brass Band are opening for the Red Hot Chili Peppers on their current string of tour dates through the Pacific Northwest and Canada. The Grammy winning brass powerhouse first caught the attention of the Chili Peppers when the band’s bassist Flea caught the group during one of their Tuesday night residency shows at the Maple Leaf Bar in New Orleans. Immediately after the show, Flea tweeted “just saw THE REBIRTH BRASS BAND, unbelievable. hard as hell, free as a ray of light, there is not a band on earth that is better. stunning.” The bands got in touch and, after a bit of rescheduling on Rebirth’s part, they decided to hit the road together. You can check out a video of the Rebirth Brass Band performing at the Maple Leaf Bar above.
