People, Hell and Angels cover art

A collection of 12 previously unreleased Jimi Hendrix songs will be made available on March 5. The collection, People, Hell and Angels, includes material from 1968 and 1969, when Hendrix was working on First Rays of the New Rising Sun, the planned follow-up to Electric Ladyland. The songs suggest an even more experimental shift for Hendrix, with the legendary guitarist working with horns, keyboards, percussion and a second guitarist. More details about the release will be revealed on November 27, Hendrix’s 70th birthday. As previously reported, Hendrix’s entire 1969 performance at Woodstock will be screened in theaters across the globe as part of the film Hendrix 70:Live At Woodstock on November 26.
