Bill Nershi of the String Cheese Incident and Andy Hall of the Infamous Stringdusters sat in with Leftover Salmon during their show at the Boulder Theater in Boulder, CO last night. The band was also joined by guitarist Vince Herman’s son Silas, as well as a washboard playing boy from the crowd. Hall played dobro with the band during the entire show, which lasted for three sets. Nershi, who also plays in the Emmitt-Nershi Band with Leftover Salmon’s Drew Emmitt, picked his guitar on “Rollin’ in My Sweet Baby’s Arms” and “All Night Ride” at the end of the all-acoustic first set, with Silas Herman taking up mandolin duties on those songs as well. Nershi came back later for “Big Railroad Blues” and “Let’s Go Get ‘Em,” which also featured an appearance by a little boy from the crowd on washboard. The SCI guitarist then played the last half of the third set, which included “Jokester,” “Light Behind the Rain,” “Up on the Hill Boogie” and a cover of Bob Marley’s “Stir It Up” sandwiched between “Doin’ My Time.” Nershi also joined Leftover Salmon and Andy Hall for an encore rendition of the Allman Brothers Band’s “Whipping Post.” The full setlist can be viewed below.

Last night’s show was the final performance of Leftover Salmon’s two-night Thanksgiving weekend run at the Boulder Theater, and the band will not be playing again until mid-December. As previously reported, Leftover Salmon will be doing a two-night New Year’s Eve run at the Old Rock House in St. Louis on December 28-29 before officially ringing in the New Year at The Vic Theatre in Chicago. The band will also be playing at the Strings & Sol Festival in Tulum, Mexico December 12-16. You can check out their 2013 winter tour dates here.
