Guster will self-release Guster: Live Acoustic, their first live album in over eight years, on January 8. The album, which is a collection of live recordings from their 2012 acoustic tour, is the band’s first proper release of any kind in two years. The album includes a number of Guster tunes that don’t get played often, including “Rainy Day” and the B-side “Rise and Shine.” Guster have also announced a series of mostly acoustic tour dates for January of 2013. The band will be joined by violinist Charlene Huang and cellist April Guthrie at most of the shows. The pair, who are billed as The Guster String Players, make appearances on Guster: Live Acoustic as well.
