John Scofield will reunite his Uberjam band for a performance at Boston, MA’s Berklee Performance Center on December 31. The Uberjam group backed Scofield on his jam/fusion/jazz/electronic-fueled albums Überjam (2002) and Up All Night (2003). After working on other projects for the past decade—with a few Uberjam shows in the mix—Scofield will both tour and record with the Uberjam group in 2013. This incarnation of the band features longtime Uberjam members Avi Bortnick (guitar/samplers) and Andy Hess (bass). Founding Uberjam bassist Jesse Murphy left the ensemble before Up All Night to focus on Brazilian Girls.

Louis Cato and longtime Uberjam member Adam Deitch will alternate drums duties on Scofield’s new album as well as on the road (Deitch is confirmed to play Dallas, TX’s Lights All Night Festival on Tuesday with Break Science). The Uberjam band’s new release is due out in May on Emarcy/Universal. They are expected to tour throughout 2013.
