Dave Matthews Band performed all the songs off their new studio album Away From the World at East Rutherford, NJ’s IZOD Center on Friday night. The band opened their set with the album’s first two songs, “Broken Things” and “Belly Belly Nice,” and proceeded to run through each of the album’s 11 tracks in order. The only notable exception was the album’s second to last song, “Snow Outside,” which was performed during the group’s encore instead of before “Drunken Solider” as it appears on Away From the World. The show marked the live debuts of both “Drunken Solider” and another Away From the World song, “Belly Full.” Dave Matthews Band also performed “Broken Things” live for the first time, though Matthews tested the song out during a show with DMB guitarist Tim Reynolds.

While the band offered all the songs on Away From the World during the night, they didn’t perform the album straight through. At various points throughout their set, Dave Matthews Band paused to perform a selection of classic songs and other catalog material.

The evening was a BAMA Works Sandy Relief Fund Benefit, and the group donated all their proceeds to help Hurricane Sandy victims. As previously reported, DMB also performed at IZOD Center last night and invited out flute player Carlos Malta during their set.
