B.B. King brought Bernard “Pretty” Purdie onstage to play drums on “The Thrill Is Gone” during his show last Thursday. The performance took place at King’s namesake venue, the B.B. King Blues Club, in New York City’s Times Square. Purdie played on few of B.B. King ‘s albums in the 1970s, including Completely Well and Guess Who. King will hit the road for an extensive tour in early 2013, beginning with a New Year’s Eve show at the AuRene Theater in Fort Lauderdale, FL on December 31. He will return to the New York City club that bears his name on April 16.
