Deadheads everywhere now have a chance to see some Grateful Dead artwork previously unavailable to the general public. The ongoing exhibition, “Rose From The Dead: A Retrospective of Grateful Dead Artwork” chronicles the work of Antonio Reonegro, an artist who worked for the Grateful Dead in the late 80s and early 90s. Reonegro was known for the backstage passes that he designed, much of which has gone unseen by the masses because of the exclusive nature of the passes themselves. The images for these credentials, which have been reprinted on larger Plexiglas, will be on display at the Wagner College Gallery in Staten Island, NY until January 5, along with some of Reonegro’s other Dead related artwork. The gallery is open Tuesday through Saturday from 11am-4pm, with extended hours on Thursday until 11pm. You can view some of Reonegro’s backstage pass designs here.
