Noted rock photographer and longtime Relix photographer Jay Blakesberg is working on his next photo book, JAM. The 192-page hard-back coffee table book collects Blakesberg’s live music photos along with extensive quotes from the notable musicians Blakesberg has shot.

As he explains, “JAM celebrates those intimate moments in which the fan feels a personal and almost spiritual connection with the musicians baring their souls on stage. Seeing a live concert can be a direct way to share a profound moment with both the artists and your friends, one that we do not get to experience by simply listening to a recording. There is a certain magical element to seeing a specific moment captured as a photograph and as a viewer looking at that photo and being taken back to a place and time that is part of your history. These images aim to illustrate the musicians’ artistry and on-stage personality through a still photograph, together with some revealing words spoken by the artists themselves. This book is not simply a showing of a musical performance, but about the epic moments the artists create on stage that capture the hearts and minds of the fans experiencing these magical, musical, moments.”

Blakesberg is self-publishing JAM and currently looking for help to get things started through Kickstarter. The campaign has a variety of price points, including a special option were Blakesberg will host a private Rock and Roll Photography workshop for you and your friends.
