LCD Soundsystem’s James Murphy recently recorded three songs with Arcade Fire, according to an interview with Arcade Fire manager Scott Rodger. In an interview with Music Week that has since been posted on Consequence of Sound, Murphy recently recorded three tunes with the group for an unspecified project. He also mentions that the band worked with past collaborator Markus Davis, who has also worked with Mumford & Sons and Coldplay. “They write too many songs—that’s a good problem to have,” Rodger says. “There’s around 35 songs with Arcade Fire, two albums’-worth for sure.” Arcade Fire are currently working on their fourth studio album and debuted a few songs at a private show in Montreal last week. Reports indicate that some of their new songs are dance-y while others were more extended numbers.

Murphy talked about recording Arcade Fire in the past. LCD Soundsystem toured with the group in 2007, and the two indie rock outfits split 7” single.. Members of Arcade Fire also sat in with LCD Soundsystem during their final show in 2011.
