Bob Weir and Jackie Greene, Les Claypool’s Duo De Twang, ALO’s Steve Adams and Dan Lebowitz, Dan Hicks, RatDog/Primus’ Jay Lane and The Waybacks’ James Nash are among the acts who participated in a benefit concert last night at the 142 Throckmorton Theatre in Marin County, CA. It was Weir’s fourth-annual show in support of the Casa de Milagros orphanage in Peru. In addition to helping out the orphanage, this year’s event also raised money for the J/P Haitian Relief Organization.
Weir and Greene were backed by Lane and RatDog bassist Robin Sylvester for their headlining performance. The group played an hour long set that peaked during a rendition of Johnny Otis’ “Willie and The Hand Jive” sandwiched between “Dark Star.” The quartet also played a cover of The Beatles’ “Dear Prudence.” For the encore, the band was joined by Les Claypool, Marc Haggard, ALO’s Dan Lebowitz and others for “Not Fade Away.”
