Umphrey’s McGee guitarists Brendan Bayliss and Jake Cinninger played a number of covers during their annual acoustic Holiday Show at Chicago’s Park West last night. A few guests sat in during the night, too. The duo were joined by Umphrey’s keyboardist Joel Cummins and pedal steel guitarist Mike Racky for a rendition of Otis Redding’s “Sitting on the Dock of the Bay.” A few songs later, Bayliss moved to the piano for an instrumental rendition of the Charlie Brown classic “Christmas Time is Here” before playing a solo version of Radiohead’s “Karma Police.” Bayliss and Cininger were then joined by Racky for Gram Parsons’ “She.” Soon after, the duo closed out the set with Pink Floyd’s “Goodbye Blue Sky” sandwiched between “August,” which you can watch above. The encore included covers of Steve Ray Vaughn’s “Life by the Drop” and Bob Seger’s “Night Moves.” Last night’s full setlist can be viewed below.
