Weir, Greene and Wilson on Saturday

Last night, Bob Weir and Jackie Greene performed at Bakersfield, CA’s Majestic Fox Theatre. Like all performances on their current tour, the evening featured three segments: Greene’s opening set, a Weir solo set and a third, collaborative set built around Grateful Dead catalog material.

For the second day in a row, last night Los Angeles guitarist Jonathan Wilson also joined Weir and Greene for their collaborative performance. Wilson and Weir first shared the stage at TRI studios during a Jerry Garcia tribute in August. They have collaborated numerous times during the past four months. The musicians’ third set included the Dead’s traditional Sunday number “Samson and Delilah,” as well as “Big Boss Man,” “Mama Tried,” “Come Together,” “Death Don’t Have No Mercy” and “Dark Star.” All three musicians returned to the stage for the lone encore of “US Blues.”

Weir and Greene will perform in Phoenix, AZ tomorrow.
