The Rolling Stones played Chuck Berry’s “Around and Around” live for the first time since March 1977 last night at the Prudential Center in Newark, NJ. The song, which was originally recorded by the Stones in 1964, was chosen by fans who voted for the tune via the band’s new mobile app. The Stones were also joined by John Mayer, who played guitar on tour debut of the band’s 1978 song “Respectable.” Former Rolling Stones guitarist Mick Taylor made an appearance for “Midnight Rambler,” just as he had at the London shows a couple of weeks ago. As previously reported, The Rolling Stones will play the final show of their “50 And Counting” 50th anniversary tour tomorrow night at the Prudential Center. The concert will feature special guest appearances by Bruce Springsteen, The Black Keys and Lady Gaga.

Meanwhile, it is possible that the Stones will perform “Around and Around” in Indio, CA come April 12. Rolling Stone is reporting that earlier today the group added a Coachella date to their mobile app then promptly took it down. Stay tuned.
