Paul McCartney was joined by a reunited Nirvana on Saturday Night Live last night. The group played their new original song “Cut Me Some Slack,” which they debuted earlier this week at the 12.12.12. Concert for Sandy Relief. McCartney was also joined by Eagles guitarist Joe Walsh for a rendition of his song “My Valentine” from his latest album Kisses On The Bottom. Later in the show, McCartney accompanied host Martin Short for a sketch that ended with the former Beatle singing his 1979 song “Wonderful Christmastime.”

You can watch a video of McCartney performing “Cut Me Some Slack” with Nirvana’s Dave Grohl, Krist Novoselic and Pat Smear above. Grohl and Smear backed Mick Jagger on SNL this past spring along with the rest of the Foo Fighters.
