Ben Harper and blues harmonica great Charlie Musselwhite will celebrate the release of their new Stax Records collaboration Get Up! with an intimate album release show at New York’s Irving Plaza on January 29. “Charlie and I have been looking to make this record for over 10 years and now that we’ve gotten to it, I can’t wait to play it live,” Harper says in a statement. “I had to earn my way to this chair. I’ll make more records in the future but it will never be as good as this one with Charlie.”

The pair will tour behind the project in 2013. Get Up! is also set for release on January 29.
