Last week, promoters AC Entertainment announced that they would no longer license the name Moogfest for their Asheville, NC-based electronic music festival. Instead, the Knoxville, TN-based company will host the Mountain Oasis Electronic Music Summit in 2013.

In a twist of events, Moog Music Inc. have announced that Moogfest will return in 2013. Moog Music Inc. started Moogfest as an evening all-star jam in 2004 and brought on AC Entertainment as the event’s promoter in 2010. They will self-promote Moogfest next year.

“The way we design and build synthesizers is the way we approach Moogfest- stay focused on the future, while respecting and honoring the past,” Emmy Parker, Sr. Marketing and Brand Manager, Moog Music Inc. said in a statement. “That’s why over the last 9 years artists from Keith Emerson, Brian Eno, and Bernie Worrell to M83, Flying Lotus and Orbital have all graced Moogfest stages. Music is our business, along with user experience and innovation. Moogfest 2013 will bring all of these aspects of Moog to the forefront.”

Though Moogfest has not confirmed its 2013 dates, Moog Music Inc. have confirmed that the event will remain in Asheville, NC.
