Telluride Bluegrass Festival Announces Initial Lineup

Sam Bush Band, Jackson Browne, Emmylou Harris and Rodney Crowell, Yonder Mountain String Band, Telluride House Band (Sam Bush, Bela Fleck, Jerry Douglas, Edgar Meyer, Bryan Sutton and Stuart Duncan), Feist, Punch Brothers, Leftover Salmon and more will play the 40th Annual Telluride Bluegrass Festival in Telluride, CO. Four-day festival passes have already sold out, but you can still purchase single day Thursday and Sunday tickets here. The full initial lineup can be viewed below.

Much like Relix, the Telluride Bluegrass Festival will be celebrating its 40th anniversary in 2013. The first festival attracted about 1000 people, while this year’s event was capped at 10,000 attendees and sold out in less four hours.

TBF has always made a point to put a few non bluegrass acts on the bill to mix it up as long as they have the right vibe. Rockygrass is the fest that tends to stick to strictly traditional bluegrass. In the past I’ve seen Taj Mahal, David Byrne, the Drive By Truckers, Spearhead, Johnny Cash and Wilco all there

Where’s Camp Greensky Bluegrass??? Their night grass set last year at the Sheridan was one of the best of the festival. hands down!
