The Return of Some Cat From Japan

Some Cat From Japan is a super group celebrating the music of Jimi Hendrix. The group includes bass player Ron Johnson (Warren Haynes Band, KDTU, Brett Dennen) guitarist Scott Metzger (RANA, Particle, Bustle in Your Hedgerow), guitarist Will Bernard (Stanton Moore Trio, Will Bernard), keyboard player and vocalist Nigel Hall (Soulive, Warren Haynes Band) and drummer Eric Bolivar (Bonerama, KDTU, Pimps of Joytime, Anders Osborne.) After spending much of 2012 focusing on their own projects, the group will come together for a late night show at New York’s Brooklyn Bowl tomorrow, December 22.

Anders Osborne will also perform at Brooklyn Bowl tonight and earlier in the evening on Saturday. Metzger will pull double duty and perform with Osborne during both shows.

Uhhh great band player-wise but if they play jimi hendrix covers why did they name themselves after a line from a david bowie song lols

Because supposedly Bowie is referencing Hendrix with that line – “He played it left-hand, but made it too far.”
