The Disco Biscuits returned to New York’s Best Buy Theater for the second night of their five-show Manhattan run last night. The band opened their first set with “The Bridge” and “Vasillios,” two songs they have not played during their limited run of shows in 2012. “The Disco Biscuits had not played “The Bridge” since September 2, 2010, a few months after they first debuted the song. “Vasillios” segued into a suite of music that included “Bombs,” “Run Like Hell” and part of “Hot Air Balloon,” a song the band started a night earlier.

The band’s second set opened with an extended segue, too. The Biscuits kicked things off with “Astronaut” and moved into “Helicopters” and “Astronaut.” They paused before “Shelby Rose” and then, inserted the Planet Anthem number “The City” in the middle of the song. It was the quartet’s first version of “The City” since September 1, 2010. Though Disco Biscuits bassist Marc Brownstein accurately told Jambands.com that “every song is a rarity” when you only play a few shows each year, the band busted out a few other nuggets for the first time since 2011, most notably “I Remember When.”

The Disco Biscuits will play a late night show at the Best Buy this evening.
