Leftover Salmon are currently in the midst of a New Year’s Eve run. Rising gospel/jam group The Lee Boys have served as Leftover Salmon’s opening act throughout the stretch of shows, which has set the stage for numerous collaborations.

For the past two nights, the two groups have held court at St. Louis, MO’s The Old Rock House. On both nights, Lee Boys pedal steel ace Roosevelt Collier also joined Leftover Salmon during their set. On Friday night, Collier emerged at the start of Leftover Salmon’s second set for “Breakin’ Through,” “Walking Shoes” and “Hey Joe.” Last night, Collier emerged during Leftover Salmon’s first set for “Breakin Through,” “Wait A Minute,” “Sittin’ On Top Of The World,” “Light Behind The Rain” and “Tangled Up In Blue.” Later in the night, Cornmeal fiddler Allie Kral made a surprise appeared with Leftover Salmon during their encore. Kral sat in on a cover of the Rolling Stones’ “Dead Flowers.”

Leftover Salmon and The Lee Boys will close 2012 at Chicago’s Vic Theatre tomorrow.
