The String Cheese Incident returned to Broomfield, CO’s 1st Bank Center last night. It was the middle show of the band’s three-night New Year’s run at the venue. Ever since they reunited in 2010, the members of The String Cheese Incident have inserted some modern covers into their repertoire. Last night, the group continued this trend by debuting a cover of Adele’s “Waiting For You” during their second set. The song segued into “Rhythm of the Road.” Talking Heads’ “This Must Be the Place (Naive Melody),” “Joyful Sound” and “Texas” closed the group’s second set. Earlier in the set, String Cheese debuted a cover of Bob Marley’s “Kinky Reggae.”

For their encore, drummer Michael Travis moved to the front of the stage to sing and play guitar on the band’s first cover of Van Halen’s “Jump” since String Cheese introduced the cover on October 29, 2010. “Whiskey Before Breakfast” brought things to a close.

The String Cheese Incident will play their first New Year’s Eve show since 2006 in Broomfield, CO this evening.
