Elton John, Mumford & Sons, Kenny Chesney, Ben Harper, Neil Young, Alabama Shakes, Jackson Browne, Mavis Staples, Sting, Eddie Vedder and Jim James will honor Bruce Springsteen as the MusiCares Person of the Year in Los Angeles on February 8. Longtime Springsteen fan and fellow New Jersey native Jon Stewart will host the event, which is part of Grammy week. Emmylou Harris, Faith Hill, Juanes, John Legend, Natalie Maines, Tim McGraw, Tom Morello, Patti Smith and others will also perform.

The musicians will all perform songs from Springsteen’s catalog. Morello appears on Springsteen’s new studio album while Patti Smith co-wrote the hit “Because the Night” with the Boss. Vedder sat in with the E-Street Band this summer and, in a recent interview with Relix, James describes seeing Springsteen live as a humbling experience. My Morning Jacket also performed his “Hungry Heart” on New Year’s Eve and will play in the Boss’ hometown of Asbury Park, NJ this evening.
