Marco Benevento celebrated New Year’s Eve at South Burlington, VT’s Higher Ground. The keyboardist supported Burlington-bred group Rubblebucket, members of whom appear on his new studio album TigerFace. During Benevento’s set, Rubblebucket singer Kalmia Traver emerged for one of her TigerFace contributions, “This Is How It Goes.” Benevento’s set also includes a mix of his solo material like “Atari,” “Fireworks,” “Escape Horse,” “The Real Morning Party,” “RISD,” “Limbs of a Pine” and “It Came From You.” Later in the night, Benevento and his drummer Andy Borger both joined Rubblebucket for “Came Out A Lady.”

In other news, Benevento has confirmed that he will perform at Nolafunk’s Fat Tuesday Party. Held at New York’s Brooklyn Bowl on February 12, Benevento’s set will be a tribute to piano great James Booker. New Orleans drummer Johnny Vidacovich, former Gov’t Mule bassist Andy Hess and other special guests will back Benevento during the night.
