Blind Boys of Alabama, Talib Kweli, Booker T, DeVotchka, Living Colour, Madeleine Peyroux and The Waterboys’ Mike Scott are among the acts confirmed for an upcoming Prince tribute concert. Organized by Knitting Factor founder and City Winery owner Michael Dorf, the event will take place at New York’s Carnegie Hall on March 7. Prince fanatics The Roots will serve as the evening’s house band. Additional acts will be confirmed in the coming weeks.

The concert marks the ninth installment of Dorf’s annual series, which has raised over $700,000 to date for music education programs for underprivileged youth. Previous sold-out Carnegie concerts presented by Dorf have honored the music of such timeless artists as Joni Mitchell, Bob Dylan, Bruce Springsteen, Elton John, R.E.M., Neil Young, The Who and The Rolling Stones. Each year 100% of the net proceeds from the concert are given to music education non-profits. This years recipients include: The American Symphony Orchestra’s Music Notes, Church Street School of Music, Young Audiences New York, FIKS (Fixing Instruments for Kids in Schools), Little Kids Rock, and the Center for Arts Education.
