Vampire Weekend to "Close Trilogy" on New Album
Vampire Weekend will release their third album this spring. In an interview with Q magazine, the band describes the album as more organic and darker. He also describes the album as the third installment in a trilogy of albums. The band released their debut release in 2008 and their sophomore effort in 2010.
According to the interview, the album was co-produced by Usher collaborator Ariel Rechtshaid and Vampire Weekend keyboardist/producer Rostam Batmanglij. The quartet has performed a few of the album’s songs live this year, including on Jimmy Kimmel Live. Vampire Weekend drummer Chirs Tomson recently spoke with Jambands.com about his collaborations with Bob Weir, Joe Russo, Mike Gordon and others this summer.
