Built To Spill have announced a string of upcoming tour dates. The indie rockers will will play a number of shows in the Pacific Northwest, including a two-night run in their hometown of Boise, ID and a two-night run at the Doug Fir Lounge in Portland, OR. Vocalist/guitarist Doug Martsch, and guitarists Brett Netson and Jim Roth, will be joined on the road by drummer Steve Gere and bassist Jason Albertini, who will replace departing drummer Scott Plouf and bassist Brett Nelson. Albertini also plays in the experimental group Helvetia, which toured with Built to Spill in 2012. Gere is a Boise-based musician who played on Helvetia’s last album along with Roth. According to the press release, the lineup shift is completely amicable and all remain good friends.
