The special guests have been announced for the January 12 and 13 Idan Raichel Project shows at Town Hall in New York City. The band will be joined by Palestinian-Israeli vocalist Mira Awad, Israeli jazz musician Amir Gwirtzman and East African vocalist and songwriter Somi. The Idan Raichel Project is a 12-piece band led by Israeli singer-songwriter Idan Raichel. The group blends African, Latin American, Caribbean and Middle Eastern sounds to create a unique live show. The full band will be playing at Town Hall this Saturday at 8pm and this Sunday at 5pm. Saturday’s performance is sold-out, though tickets remain from the Sunday performance ($45, $100) and can be purchased here.

Raichel recently took time away from his ever-evolving Project to tour with the Malian musician Vieux Farka Toure whom he released the album The Tel Aviv Sessions with last year. You can read our feature about the project here and watch the Idan Raichel Project perform “Rov Hashoat” above.
