Black Sabbath to Release New Album with Ozzy Osbourne

Tony Iommi and Ozzy Osbourne, 1973

Black Sabbath have announced that they will release their 19th album in June. Titled 13, the record will be the band’s first to feature Ozzy Osbourne since 1978’s Never Say Die!, and original members Tony Iommi and Geezer Butler will also appear on the album. Rage Against the Machine drummer Brad Wilk will replace Bill Ward, who dropped out of the band’s reunion project last May. 13 was primarily recorded in Los Angeles with legendary producer Rick Rubin.

Black Sabbath will play a number of shows in New Zealand, Australia and Japan in advance of the album’s release. More tour dates will be announced in the future.

Bill Ward was more like forced out than dropped out. He’s a full member of the band, not a hired hand. Same stuff Van Halen brothers pulled with Michael Anthony, that’s an awful way to treat a founding member of the band.

I wonder how this will stack up against Heaven and Hell. I’m an Ozzy guy when it comes to Sabbath, but that Dio/Appice reunion seemed sincere. They sounded good as a unit and Dio was doing holding up better health-wise than Ozzy. Crazy how things end up.

Lets just say ozzy needs a new vocal boost, his vocal is so weak now a days its so sad. If u saw them or watchd them at lollapalooza he sounds o.k. for the first couple songs but then his voice just takes a big shit!!! I walked out halfway thru the last ozzfest they did with sabbath!! Dio’s vocal even in the last heaven and hell tour his vocal was amazing!!!! So maybe if u attend i suggest heavy drinking cause something has to make his voice sound better!!

I am with Sharon There is NO Black Sabbath WITHOUT Bill Ward! He CANNOT be replaced and certainly not substituted! Sad they get it together with 0z and Bill is forced out! What the hell is wrong with them!?!? I think with EVERYONES health and age creepin up on them this is the last Hoorah Get Bill Ward back or can trhe whole deal! 0zzie is good but when you seen him you seen him. I seen Nugent back when he was good open for Black Sabbath Dec.4th 1976 at the Philadelphia Spectrum and WOW! Sabbath created an armosphere that was undescribable the closest I could say would be the Black Sabbath. Album. Black Sabbath cover just but again they can’t and won’t hit a homerun without Bill Ward !
