Talking Heads’ Chris Frantz, Tina Weymouth Produce Benefit Song for Sandy Hook Victims

Longtime Connecticut residents Chris Frantz and Tina Weymouth of Tom Tom Club and Talking Heads have produced a tribute to the victims of the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting. The benefit single features 21 students from Newtown, CT singing “Somewhere Over the Rainbow” with singer/songwriter Ingrid Michaelson. The project was orchestrated by current CBGB-owner Tim Hayes, and the tune was recorded at Frantz and Weymouth’s Connecticut studio. All proceeds from the sales will benefit The Newtown Youth Academy and The United Way of Western Connecticut. The track can be purchased here and a video of the students recording the song can be viewed above.
