Paul Kantner and Slick Aguilar

David Crosby and Jefferson Starship’s Marty Balin will play a benefit concert for Jefferson Starship guitarist Mark “Slick” Aguilar on February 24 at the Great American Music Hall in San Francisco. The 58 year-old Aguilar is in desperate need of a liver transplant after having contracted Hepatitis C, and a medical fund has been created to help him out. Balin and Crosby will each do an acoustic set at the event, which will also see appearances by members of Big Brother & The Holding Company and other local musicians. Country Joe McDonald will be the Master of Ceremonies. Tickets to the benefit are $50 for general admission and $74.95 with dinner included. Donations can be made to Aguilar’s medical fund here.
