Perpetual Groove have cancelled a number of their current dates due to health reasons. As of press time, the band will resume touring on January 30. Brock Butler recently announced that he was going to step away from the band for personal reasons. In an open letter he said, “Trying to find balance, break bad habits and develop good ones while continuing a life on the road is something I haven’t been able to do.” Along with his note, Perpetual Groove announced a formal hiatus. The remaining members of the band will focus on the new band Ghost Owl until Butler is able to rejoin them. Perpetual Groove’s final pre-hiatus show will take place in Athens, GA on April 6.

A note from the band reads:

We are truly disappointed to report that shows scheduled for the next two weeks just can’t go on. All shows have been canceled until 1/30/13 at this time. Health comes first as you all know. All previous purchased tickets can and will be refunded through the appropriate ticket outlets. Thank you for your understanding.

The group’s farewell tour will resume with a rescheduled gig at Oxford, MS’ The Lyric on January 30. Their February will take place as planned at this time.
