Phil Lesh, Bob Weir, John Kadlecik and Jeff Chimenti played with God Street Wine last night for the first Terrapin Crossroads Ramble of 2013. Lesh, Kadlecik and Chimenti joined the band for the duration of the Ramble, which was heavy on Beatles’ covers, as well as the usual Dead material. Set one kicked off with a rendition of “Here Comes the Sun,” followed by covers of Traffic’s “Dear Mr. Fantasy” and Van Morrison’s “Into The Mystic.” The band then played the Beatles’ “Let It Be” before closing the set with “So Many Roads,” “Here Comes Sunshine” and “Ripple.”

Weir joined the fray for the entirety of the second set, which got started with a “Help On The Way” > “Slipknot!”. The middle of the set included an extended jam of “Bird Song” > “Days Between” > The Beatles’ “Golden Slumbers” > “Not Fade Away.” “Eyes of the World” > “China Cat Sunflower” > “I Know You Rider” came next before the band ended the set with “Sugar Magnolia.” Weir then stuck around for the encore, which consisted of “Box of Rain” > The Beatles “The End” > John Lennon’s “Imagine.”

Chimenti also joined God Street Wine for “Chop” and “Borderline” during their opening performance. The band will play opening set for tonight and tomorrow night’s Rambles as well, and Lesh, Kadlecik and Chimenti will once again join them as the main act. As previously reported, both of those shows will be webcast live via Terrapin Crossroads. The setlists for both of last night’s performances can be found below.

After almost a decade apart, the members of God Street Wine reunited for a series of New York shows in 2010 as well as two shows aboard Jam Cruise in early 2011. They came together for a few more New York dates this past summer and also performed at both Bob Weir’s TRI Studios and Mill Valley, CA’s Sweetwater Music Hall in August. During the same California visit, God Street Wine also played a surprise late night set at Terrapin Crossroads.
