On Saturday night, Kung Fu returned to the East Coast after a run through Colorado for a show at Manchester, CT’s Main St. Music Hall. Dopapod was in town prepping for their Midwest tour as well as an appearance at the Aura Music Festival. (Both Kung Fu and Dopapod have multiple sets scheduled at the Florida festival). During Sunday’s show, Dopapod keyboardist Eli Winderman and guitarist Rob Compa joined Kung Fu for a cover of Jimmy Herring’s “Scapegoat Blues” as well as “Scrabb.”

Kung Fu and Dopapod will co-headline a show at New York’s Highline Ballroom on February 21. Fikus will open the evening.

Once I saw Rob doing a sound check with his PRS, I knew we’d hear Scapegoat at some point. All the dudes from Dopapod were present; but it was just Rob on Scapegoat, Eli came on during the second set for Scrabb.
