Zooey Deschanel and M. Ward will release their third album of original material as She & Him on May 7 via Merge. Dubbed Vol 3., the album will feature 11 Deschanel originals and three covers. She & Him released the holiday recording A Very She & Him Christmas but this is the duo’s first proper album since Deschanel cemented her star-status with the sitcom New Girl.

The duo will also hit the road for a month-long tour this summer, which kicks off at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville on June 13. They will headline a number of big outdoor spaces, including Hollywood, CA’s Hollywood Bowl on June 23 and New York’s Central Park Summerstage on July 6. Emmylou Harris & Rodney Crowell and Camera Obscura provide support on select dates.

Produced by M. Ward, and recorded in Los Angeles, Portland, and New York City, Volume 3 features guest contributions from NRBQ’s Joey Spampinato, Mike Watt, Tilly and the Wall, Rilo Kiley’s Pierre de Reeder and Devotchka’s Tom Hagerman.
