Two Boots, which has fused the cultures of the Big Apple and the Big Easy for over 25 years in the areas of film and food, will host their fourth annual Mardi Gras Ball at New York’s Le Poisson Rouge on February 12. As always, proceeds from the event will benefit Two Boots friends the Lower Eastside Girls Club (LESGC). The celebration will crown Questlove and Cyndi Lauper as King and Queen of this year’s festivities. Both artists will appear at the Mardi Gras celebration.

A portion of the proceeds will be donated to Middle Collegiate Church, which will use the funds to support programs in Haiti and New Orleans. The rest will support free programs at The Lower Eastside Girls Club in NYC. In addition to covering all production costs, Two Boots will program the event with the LESGC. The lineup features performances by PitchBlak Brass Band, Antibalas-side-project EMEFE, cabaret act This Ambitious Orchestra featuring Odetta Hartman, DJs Roxy Cottontail and Beverly Bond, all-female AfroBrazilian drum band BatalaNYC, rock-soul band the Liza Colby Sound and the Middle Church Jerriese Johnson Gospel Choir with guest singer Isabel Celeste. Entertainment will also include Lady Circus, the burlesque aerial troupe from House of Yes, body painting by Piyali Banerjie and hat making by Wendy Brackman.
