Jorma Kaukonen has utilized the power of Kickstarter to raise more than enough money to fund educational programming at the new “Psylodelic Gallery” that is being built at at his Fur Peace Ranch in Pomeroy, OH. The gallery will include installations like show posters from some of the best-known acts of the ’60s, clothing and jewelry worn at events like Woodstock and on national television performances, original photographs and art prints, and much more. However Jorma and his wife Vanessa want more than just a space for showing off trippy pieces of memorabilia, they want a place where young people and the surrounding community can learn about the psychedelic era. In order to realize their goal of bringing guest lecturers and speakers, collaborating with local schools and sponsoring community nights, among other things, the Kaukonens started a Kickstarter campaign to raise money for educational programming. Jorma and his wife launched the campaign on January 31 with the intention of raising $15,000 over the course of a month, but after just three days, the campaign has already raised over $18,500.
