Warren Haynes to Honor Jerry Garcia’s Birthday with SF Symphony

Warren Haynes and the San Francisco Symphony will commemorate Jerry Garcia’s birthday with a special concert on August 1 and 2. The event will take place at 7:30pm each night at Davies Symphony Hall in San Francisco. The orchestra will be conducted by Sarah Hicks. Tickets to the shows are $30-100, with pre-sale beginning today at noon PST.

As previously reported, Haynes will honor Jerry Garcia with the Boston Pops on June 22 as well. The orchestra will perform a selection of Garcia originals, Grateful Dead songs and other associated material at Stockbridge, MA’s Tanglewood for the event, which has been dubbed the “Jerry Garcia Symphonic Celebration.” Haynes has played with the Phil Lesh Quintet, and the guitarist also toured with The Dead, which included all four of the core surviving members of the Grateful Dead.

I told Warren personally he should be in the “Other Ones” back in 1998.He wasn’t really a fan of the music then as he hadn’t really discovered how good a writer Hunter was.Glad he found out.Kudos my friend.Kudos!!
