John Medeski will release his debut solo piano record, A Different Time, on April 9 via Sony Classical’s newly re-launched Okeh Records label. The album will mainly consist of Medeski’s own compositions, but will also include a traditional spiritual (“His Eye Is on the Sparrow”) and a Willie Nelson cover (“I’m Falling in Love Again”). As previously reported, MMW have just been added to the lineup of Wilco’s Solid Sound Music and Arts Festival, set to take place from June 21-23 in North Adams, MA. You can check out some of Medeski’s upcoming solo dates here, and our recent interview with Medeski, Scofield, Martin and Wood can be read here.
