a night of unique cover music on April 26. Throughout the night, three bands will rework classic, funky artists on the club’s mainstage: Dumpstaphunk will perform the music of Parliament Funkadelic, Rebirth Brass Band will rework selections from the Michael Jackson catalog and The New Orleans Soul Stars will tackle James Brown. Meanwhile, Monophonics will pay tribute to Sly and the Family Stone and Stax Records in the club’s Den space. The New Orleans Soul Stars includes Dumpstaphunk bassists Tony Hall and Nick Daniels, among others. For more on Dumpstaphunk be sure to order the March issue of Relix.
