Jim James will join the Flaming Lips when the band returns to SXSW with a free show at Auditorium Shores on Friday, March 15. Gates to the venue will open at 3:30pm and the music will begin at 5pm. Divine Fits will play at the show as well. In addition to the performance, James will also be at the festival as a featured interviewee. The special interview will take place at the Room 18ABC in the Austin Convention Center on Wednesday, March 13. The discussion will begin at 3:30pm and will be conducted by Bill Flanagan for MTV Networks. You can read the feature on Jim James and his debut solo album from the latest issue of Relix here. As previously reported, The Flaming Lips will release their new album The Terror on April 2.
