The String Cheese Incident Confirm Summer Tour, Working on New Album

The String Cheese Incident have confirmed their summer tour. In addition to previously confirmed appearances at the Telluride Bluegrass Festival, Electric Forest and Forecastle Festival, the group will host multi-night runs at Austin, TX’s The Backyard (7/4-7/6), Morrison, CO’s Red Rocks (7/26-27) and North Plains, OR’s Horning’s Hideout (8/2-4). The Travelin’ McCourys, Del McCoury Band, John Scofield’s Uberjam Band, Steve Kimock with Bernie Worrell, ALO and several other acts will join String Cheese during their Horning’s Hideout weekend.

String Cheese will play three shows in Louisville, KY during Forecastle: a proper festival set, a separately-ticketed late night show off set and a guest-heavy set billed as The Forecastle Incident. Their late night show will take place at the Palace Theater on Saturday, July 13.

The group is currently working on their first studio album since 2005. The album will mix some of the songs the band has debuted since their 2010 reunion with several new tracks. Kyle Hollingsworth recently told Relix and Jambands.com that the group is weighing producer options.

Clearly you’ve never been to Louisville before. Great fest in an awesome city.

Another who gives a shit moment in annals of rock and roll history. Definitely one of the worst rock and roll bands I have ever seen. They have not made one good record in their entire career yet have legions of uninformed hula hooping fans. I find it ironic that one needs another hobby when going see this band…..the music isnt sufficient enough to keep your attention for the entire show. Pathetic really. Not only are the hula hoops and fucking glow sticks plastic and non organic, they encroach upon the personal space of the other concert goers. Oh calgon, take me back to the days when there wernt jambands and Phish was only a grateful dead type band. Andy Gadiel, I curse you for coining the term jamband and unleashing decades of shitty homogenized bad music onto the scene.

couldn’t disagree with you more charlie. If Cheese is one of the worst bands you have ever seen you obviously don’t get out much nor support local music. And i really wish when people post shit like this they would reference who is a band they like to see or is it just “dead” related.

I’m growing tired of these sorry excuses for tours. They are playing 6 stops. That is a pathetic excuse for a tour. They are all festival dates as well except for one, meaning you’ll have to pay out the ass to see them play, and that’s assuming they are close enough to make the trip worthwhile in the first place. I’m sorry, I love this band and have supported it throughout the years, but I’m sick of this crap. The music has suffered from the lack of touring.

As veteran of 250 Grateful Dead shows, 60 Jerry band shows at least 100 Phish shows and lets see….Name a good Band besides the Talking Heads and I bet I have seen em…The Cheese Sucks.

Charles Brown March 10, 2013, 11:17:39

Most recent shows
Tame Impala
Grizzly Bear
Radiohead
Deerhoof
Meat Puppets
Flaming Lips….
The Cheese Sucks…not like Primus, but they are on the list as well.

Charles Brown March 10, 2013, 11:18:48

The music sucks for a lack of creativity and originality.
