The Last Summer On Earth: Barenaked Ladies, Ben Folds Five and Guster

Guster and Ben Folds Five will join Barenaked Ladies on their The Last Summer On Earth tour this summer. The band’s second The Last Summer On Earth—which was named after the Mayan end of the world prophecy—will hit over 30 arenas and amphitheaters throughout the summer months.

The tour will celebrate Barenaked Ladies’ 25th anniversary and the group’s forthcoming studio album for new label Vanguard Records. The band is currently putting the finishing touches on the album, which was recorded in Toronto with producers Gavin Brown (The Tragically Hip, Metric), Howie Beck (Feist, Josh Rouse) and Mark Endert (Maroon 5, Train). Fans who purchase tickets for The Last Summer On Earth will receive a voucher for a download of the Barenaked Ladies’ new album, which is slated for release on June 4.

Barenaked Ladies, Ben Folds Five and Guster have all toured together in different capacities over the years. Guster’s Adam Gardner and Barenaked Ladies’ Ed Robertson are both members of the supergroup Yukon Kornelius.

I highly recomend missing this tour, it was absolutely horrible last year. All the bands on the tour play VERY short sets.

Last year wasn’t “absolutely horrible”. I saw the show at two different venues and it was a great time at each. You got four bands for your money and the headliner (BNL) plays for over an hour. If not for venue curfews, I’m sure they’d play all night for you.

well at 30 mins for Cracker and 35 mins for Big Head Todd and 40 mins for Blues Traveler it wasn’t worth the money IMHO.
