Arcade Fire are currently working on their fourth studio album in New York’s West Village. As previously reported, the Canadian indie group have recruited James Murphy to produce their new album. As reported by Pitchfork, The DFA Studio Twitter account wrote yesterday morning, “Arcade Fire STILL with us at DFA… This is going to be one great sounding album!” Arcade Fire recorded their last two albums in their converted church headquarters. The Pitchfork article points out that the group recently gave up their Montreal studio.

Murphy and the members of Arcade Fire are longtime friends. Arcade Fire joined LCD Soundsystem at their final show in 2011 and toured with the band in 2007.

While in New York, Arcade Fire’s Will Butler will also speak on the
Northwestern University Club of Greater New York Music Industry Panel. Butler will join fellow Northwestern University alums with ties to the music industry, including Relix publisher Peter Shapiro, Warner executive Michelle Edgar, Pitchfork editor Ryan Dombal and Next Big Sound editor Alex White. The event will take place at New York’s Mercury Lounge on March 26 from 6-9 PM. Meanwhile, Arcade Fire fiddler Sarah Neufeld continues to teach yoga a few blocks away from where her band is recording.
