Umphrey’s McGee closed their winter tour with a headlining spot at Phoenix, AZ’s McDowell Mountain Music Festival. Partway through the band’s set, The Hipster Assassins’ Mike Bendy—who has a long association with Felix Pastorius—replaced Ryan Stasik for “In the Kitchen.” Later in the evening, Arizona jazz guitarist Stanley Jordan joined Umphrey’s McGee for the encore of “Glory” and Talking Heads’ “Making Flippy Floppy.” Jordan performed with Umphrey’s McGee a few times in 2012 as part of a sit in blitz that included stage time with Phil Lesh, Dave Matthews Band and The String Cheese Incident, among others.

Umphrey’s McGee will return to the road in April. They will kick off the next leg of their tour on April 10 in Charleston, SC, the new homebase of Stasik, UM percussionist Andy Farag and manager Vincent Iwinski.
